“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.” -Matthew 5:14
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”-Matthew 5:16.
Hi! My name is Stacey. Welcome to my little corner of the internet world.
Just a little about me: I am a believer, a wife to a handsome engineer, and a mom to an adorable 13 month-old boy and our little girl, who.will be joining us January 2016. I spent most of my 20’s obtaining degrees in Biology and Dietetics, working my way through college as a nanny to three sweet children. I stayed with the same family for seven years before graduating and deciding to get out into the working world.
Only after getting the degrees, was it I found that the Lord was calling me to stay at home- something I said I would *never* do. He placed people in my life that helped with the transition, mentors, if you will. I was a stay at home wife to my husband for two years before feeling ready to become a mother.
I didn’t always know God. I used to be an atheist, denouncing him to everyone, trying to get them to question His existence and their faith. I lived a life I’m not proud of in my early 20’s, but God met me exactly where I was.
After having my friend invite me to church several times, and knowing my husband wanted to get back into church, I decided to give it a try. And by “giving it a try”, I mean I sat with my arms crossed and rolling my eyes the entire sermon.
I went again- I’m not sure why, but I did. The second time, it felt like there was a wall breaking down inside of me. Light was coming through some very dark places and I knew it was God. For the past five years, He has made Himself known to me.
And now, I want to make Him known to others.
This is a space for me to share His light and wisdom. Through transparency, I will share my struggles that end with God being glorified. I hope to use this place as a place of connection and rest, meeting with you where you are.
So grab a cup of tea and join me on my virtual couch. I’m glad you’re here!
**Through the month of September 2016, I will be doing a series of twenty posts, all on different topics the Lord has laid on my heart. From the importance of being transparent to noticing the holy moments in our lives, we will discuss how to live life more freely and less selfishly. I hope you’ll join me!**
PS. Updates for the posts will be posted to my Instagram, which you can find here.
